Job Description

  • Understanding the Requirements: Conduct a review of all failures identified on site by electricians or technicians.
  • Review the service report to ensure adequate information has been provided to create an accurate estimate. Identify the location of electrical components, access points, and any potential challenges. Liaise with Electrical State Supervisor if site visits are required.
  • Quote Evaluation: Evaluate if the quote is deemed a safety issue, a recommendation or is non-compliant with Australian and New Zealand standards.
  • Material Requirements: Identify the types and quantities of materials needed, such as wires, switches, outlets, circuit breakers, and any specialized components.
  • Labour Costs: Estimate the total hours required for the job and the number of electricians needed. Identify if works will be disruptive to service and if the rectifications will need to be completed after hours.
  • Material and Service Costs: Provide an accurate cost for the materials and service fees required for the job. Ensure this is based on current company, client contract and supplier pricing.
  • Overheads and Additional Costs: Consider any overheads, including travel, accommodation (if needed), correct disposal of products, or specialized technicians required.
  • Detailed Breakdown: Provide a clear and detailed breakdown of the quote that includes labor costs, material costs, and any other service fees. Ensure the quote reflects both the price for the complete job and for individual components where applicable.
  • Standards and Certifications: Ensure that the quoted work complies with national/international standards, and safety regulations.
  • Submission: Ensure the quote/estimate is sent to the correct client contact for approval.
  • Approval: once a quote is approved, liaise with Electrical State Supervisors and scheduling department on allocation of works and arrangement of required materials.
  • Decline: if a quote is declined, ensure quote is accurately declined in the system.

Salary Range: 30,000 - 35,000

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of industry regulations, standards and compliances.
  • Proven ability to create estimates for electrical installations and rectifications.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects. Analytical skills to assess costs and risks effectively.
  • Proficient in relevant software and technology.
  • 4+ years as an electrical estimator, electrician or have worked in the relevant field.
